I had my first experience talking to someone who was using SkypeOut. The experience was nothing short of horrible. The call quality was pathetic, and we had to call each other back several times due to the calls being dropped. In total it took about 20 minutes to have a 5 minute conversion with somebody in my own area code. To top it all off the call was business related.

I already have a well established relationship with the person so no harm done, but I cannot help but wonder why on earth sites such as Web Worker Daily would ever recommend Skype as a business tool. I consider Conference calls and other business related communication mission critical.

Would you run your email through a service that people had to email you the same message 5 times to get even part of the message through to you because it was nearly-free?
